A journey in photos
by Steve Young
The photo galleries within this web site contain an image account of some of my life’s journeys. Some of the places I have lived in, some of the things that excite me and some of the beauty I have been lucky enough to have witnessed.
I have been taking pictures for most of my life. I have always felt that I should be recording my travels in some fashion. Even before it was popular to do so. I was never much of a writer, painter or craftsman, so the camera became my method of expression.
Over the years people have enjoyed my photography and say I have an eye. But you can be your own judge on that one.
I seriously got into photography when I first moved to The Big Island of Hawaii in 1982. I had only been their a few days when Kilauea Volcano erupted. Did not own a camera at the time. But I got one pretty soon after that. Soon I was getting lots of pictures and some folks wanted to buy them. I could now pay for my habit. Or at least that is what I thought. I was never that great of a promoter. So I never made a lot of money with them. But money never was the driving force in all of this. It just happen that I had a passion for taking pictures. So thanks to an age of computers, social networks and digital photography I can now feed my passion for less money than the old days and more people can see my work today than back then. Hopefully every now and again some one will donate a couple of bucks to help support me in my old age.
So I invite you to journey with me for a while. Let me share with you moon bows and volcanoes of fire in Hawaii to Northern Lights and rivers of ice in Alaska my travels to India and anywhere else the journey may lead me.
My Copyright Policies.
It is kind of an honor system. Any one can down load one of my photos and use it anyway they want. If you think you can make a few bucks on it, be my guest. However I do have a couple of requests. Not demands just a request. 1: Help in any way you can. Give me a plug. Mention one of my web sites or give me a link. I don’t sell too many of my pictures and never have. Mostly just gave them away. So at 60 I am just looking for a few ways to help fund my habit of taking pictures and seeing some of this world I never got around to in my younger days. I would have no objection to a toke, tip, gratuity or other donation you might want to toss my way. And if you do just go here to my Go Fund Me site I thank you for your interest and please enjoy the photos.
